WATCH | Call to ban single-use plastic

JOHANNESBURG - The World Wide Fund for Nature is calling for a global ban on harmful and unnecessary single-use plastic items.

It plans to present this call at the UN plastic pollution treaty talks.

Those will be taking place in Paris later this month.

Zaynab Sadan, the WWF Plastic Policy Coordinator for Africa, says the talks need to consider how the proposed policies will affect informal waste collectors.
