JOHANNESBURG - Veteran journalist Joe Thloloe has described PAC leader Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe as a selfless and caring leader.
Wednesday marks exactly, 60 years since Sobukwe was banished to Robben Island as a political prisoner of a special type.
The Robben Island Museum declared 2023, The Year of Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe to honour the PAC founders memory.
He died in 1978 from lung complications.
Thloloe has called on South Africans to learn more about Sobukwe in order to emulate the great man.
Meanwhile, Sobukwe's granddaughter has remembered how difficult her childhood was.
Nomfundo Sobukwe was one of the speakers at the Robben Island Museum.
