JOHANNESBURG - Some Africans want back the Cullinan I diamond that was allegedly stolen by the UK over 100 years ago.
This comes after the coronation of Britain's King Charles III this past weekend, which was displayed with massive diamonds in his crown and scepter.

Associate professor of African Politics at Unisa Everisto Benyera says the diamond is a representation of all illegitimate transactions by colonisers.
Benyera says it is time South Africans got back what is theirs.
"All colonial transactions are illegitimate therefore the diamond belongs to the people of South Africa. The diamond belongs to the people of Cullinan and the diamond is a representation of the sum of all colonial illegitimate transactions from the slave trade to colonialism," he said.
