JOHANNESBURG - Two used car dealers have been fined R150,000 for violating the Consumer Protection Act.
They have also been ordered to refund customers over R1m.
The Consumer Commission investigated Wingfield Motors in the Western Cape and Sandton Repo Cars.
They sold defective vehicles to consumers and lied about accident histories.
The commission hopes this sends a strong message to used car dealers.
Head of Complaints and Investigations in the commission, Prudence Moilwa spoke to the eNCA.
