JOHANNESBURG - The SA Municipal Workers’ Union has welcomed a Labour Court decision to hear an application by the City of Tshwane on its dispute over salary hikes.
The City filed a review application for decisions ordering it to implement wage agreements reached 2021 and 2023. That application will be heard on 28 November.

Municipal workers were due for a 3.5-percent salary hike in 2021 and 5.4-percent increase in 2023. The City of Tshwane delayed this implementation by applying for exemptions at the SA Local Government Bargaining Council.
