WATCH | Global egg prices crack previous highs - study

JOHANNESBURG - Egg suppliers and consumers are scrambling to deal with higher prices.

According to a study by food and agriculture lender, Rabobank, global egg prices have reached historic highs.

It expects costs to remain high throughout 2023.

Several factors are impacting prices, including feed costs, avian influenza outbreaks and consumer demand.

In South Africa, rolling blackouts and higher electricity tariffs can be added to that list.
