Vodacom to cut around 80 jobs in SA

JOHANNESBURG - Vodacom says it will be trimming some of its workforce as part of a move to transition from a Telco to a technology company. 

Vodacom says its latest restructuring will impact around 80 employees in South Africa at all levels of the company.

The company says it forms part of its plan to optimise its business to meet evolving industry and customer demands. 

The move also forms part of its cost reduction measures.

Vodacom says it will provide the necessary support to those affected.

The telecoms company currently employs 5,400 people.
