JOHANNESBURG - The private industry is key to job creation in a struggling economy, but it seems companies are struggling to stay afloat.
Statistics South Africa has revealed that about 125 business ceased to operate in May.
That takes the total number of business closures in the first five months of 2024 to 638.
While business closures have decreased by 5.3% compared to the same period last year, they remain very high in a struggling economy.
Belinda Scriba, Director of dispute resolution practice at Cliff Dekker Hofmeyr, discussed this with eNCA.
