UIF accepting manual U-19 forms

JOHANNESBURG - The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) has done an about-turn.

It says it is accepting manual UI-19 forms after a circular in Gauteng confirmed its discontinuance.

The form confirms the employment status and history, as well as the salary and hours worked by an employee.

It is pivotal in the case of anyone wanting to claim benefits.

The fund is apologising for the mishap and says people can visit its website to submit claims.

Employers can also use uFiling to declare their workers, including foreign employees.
