JOHANNESBURG - Transnet has lifted the Force Majeure on a coal line which experienced a derailment earlier in November.
The line had to be closed after more than 90 wagons carrying coal derailed near Ulundi.
Sabotage was initially suspected, following threats against the company the previous day.
However, it is understood that the Railway Safety Regulator has found against the driver in an initial report.
Transnet Freight Rail is contractually bound to deliver committed quantities of coal for the coal export parties.
