Sugarcane farmers hit hard by power cuts

JOHANNESBURG - Sugarcane farmers have taken a closer look at the losses they are suffering due to rolling blackouts.

Without stable power supply, farmers are not able to run their irrigation systems sufficiently.

The South African Canegrowers Association estimates that power cuts will cost growers about R723 million this year.
