HARARE - The son of Zanu-PF bigwig Christopher Mutsvangwa has appeared in court on charges of money laundering and illegal trading.
This is after the Zimbabwe central bank introduced the gold-backed ZiG currency last month to fight hyperinflation.

Police have been cracking down on illegal money changers to protect the ZiG currency from losing value.
The bail hearing for Mutsvangwa Junior and his accomplices will continue Monday.
