Sipho Nkosi resigns as Sasol chairperson

JOHANNESBURG - Sipho Nkosi has stepped down as Chairperson and non-executive director of the chemicals and energy group, Sasol.

This is due to a so-called perceived conflict of interest.

According to a Sens statement, Nkosi was initially comfortable he would be able to comply with the conflict of interest requirements of the Companies Act and Sasol.

However, he was concerned that some of his business interests may be perceived to place him in conflict with the interests of  Sasol.

Stephen Westwell has been appointed interim board chair and a nomination process will begin shortly.
