CAPE TOWN - Budget cuts in the public healthcare sector are becoming an increasing concern for Cape Town leaders.
Addressing delegates at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, Mayor Geordin-Hill Lewis stressed the importance of preserving the facility so generations to come can also benefit from it.

The paediatric hospital commemorated South African servicemen and veterans of World War II who donated two days’ pay in support of building the medical institution in the 1950s.
Despite the pressure on the public healthcare sector, clinicians have emphasised that their world-renowned work at the facility continues and patient care will remain a top-priority.
