SARB increases repo rate by 25 basis points

JOHANNESBURG - The South African Reserve Bank has announced an increase of the repo rate 25 basis points.

This brings the repo rate to 7.25% from 7%.

The prime lending rate has moved to 10.75%   from 10.5%.

The increase will come into effect from 27 January.
