Transnet slams world bank report on port perfomance
JOHANNESBURG - Transnet Port Terminals has responded to a World Bank Report that cited South African ports as the worst performing, globally.
TPT says there are several factual errors contained in the report.
The parastatal says a recovery plan was implemented last October to improve operational and financial performance.
Durban and Cape Town ports have seen an increase in container volumes. A 24-hour maintenance plan is in effect and contingency plans to improve performance.
TPT says it will raise it's concerns with the World Bank.
