We are going to derisk energy generation - Ramakgopa
PRETORIA - Eskom will no longer be the sole provider of electricity in South Africa.
For decades, Eskom has had a monopoly on generation, distribution and transmission.
This gave Eskom the power to design electricity prices and propose increases much higher than the inflation rate.
Electricity Minister Kgosienstho Ramokgopa says relying solely on Eskom has left the country in the dark.
