JOHANNESBURG - The absence of blackouts is leaving the economy in the black.
Well, not quite, but there is some positive news from the Reserve Bank.
It's been able to revise its growth outlook upwards.
The central bank expected the power crisis to trim 0.8 and 0.4 points off growth in 2025 and 2026.
It's now reduced that to 0.2 and 0.04 percentage points.
The Electricity Minister has, however, warned the current reprieve is temporary.
Kgosientsho Ramokgopa believes power cuts are likely to make a return in winter.
Eskom says it will try to keep it down to Stage 2.
