JOHANNESBURG - The National Consumer Commission has issued an urgent recall for the Gizzu Portable Power Stations.
Syntech Distribution, the importer and distributor, says there have been reports of fire hazards with 300Wh and 500Wh models.
It's asked consumers to immediately return them.
The products, which are imported from China, have a battery manufacturing flaw which could result in self-combustion and melting while charging.
It's estimated that around 3,500 units have been sold in the country.
Visit www.syntech.co.za - look for the Gizzu power station query tool and enter your device's serial number to check if your power station is defective.
