JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa says the latest job numbers show the economy is on the road to recovery.
In his weekly letter, from the desk of the president, Ramaphosa notes that around a million jobs were created between the fourth quarter of 2021 and the second quarter of 2022.
There was growth in community and social services, trade, finance and construction.
The President says employment in the construction industry feeds into the Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan.
R812-billlion has been earmarked for the next three years for infrastructure development and investment.
While our economy takes time to recover and our reform programme is implemented, we will continue to pursue a range of complementary interventions to support job creation.https://t.co/Gf92htFyQV pic.twitter.com/yPDWz23NMR
