Public sentiment towards banks improves

JOHANNESBURG - This year, bank customers in South Africa are significantly more satisfied with the service they received, compared to last year according to the latest South African Banking Sentiment Index from DataEQ.

Over 4 million social media posts, related to African Bank, Absa, Capitec, Discovery Bank, FNB, Nedbank, Standard Bank, and TymeBank, between September 2022 and August 2023 were analysed.

There are still so-called pain points for consumers as Sarah-Anne Lamb, the banking lead at DataEQ explained.
