JOHANNESBURG - Wage talks between public sector unions and the government remain deadlocked.
The Public Servants Association -- which represents more than 230,000 workers -- says it will embark on a one-day stay-away this Thursday.
Last week, four other unions -- Denosa, Nehawu, POPCRU and HOSPERSA -- issued strike certificates.
They are yet to notify the government of their plans.
Workers have rejected government's 3 percent wage increase and have also called for R1,000 monthly gratuity payment to continue beyond March next year.
The PSA started lunchtime pickets last week and said Thursday's stay-away will impact a number of government departments.
