JOHANNESBURG President Cyril Ramaphosa has signed the Electricity Regulation Amendment Bill into law.
The Bill seeks to provide an open market platform that will allow for competitive electricity trading.
It is also aimed at strengthening the role of the National Energy Regulator of South Africa and introducing provisions on offences and penalties to address the theft and vandalism of electricity infrastructure.
