Prepaid meters not upgraded to stop working in November

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom says 300,000 meters still need to be precoded before the November deadline.

Prepaid customers need to ensure their meters are upgraded so they can continue to buy electricity.

After the expiration date, the current prepaid meter software will stop accepting credit tokens.

Deputy Electricity Minister, Samantha Jane Graham, said users will be provided with a series of digits to input in the metres.
