SANDTON - The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa is picketing at the offices of the Industrial Development Corporation for the organisation to stop funding steel producer, SA Steel Mills.
NUMSA claims the company unlawfully dismissed over 160 workers for participating in a lawful strike.

Members have been on strike since the 22nd of May demanding that NUMSA shop stewards are recognised by the company for the union to defend workers.
It also says the company has disregarded labour laws and centralised bargaining and health and safety regulations.
NUMSA is demanding that the IDC reevaluate the funding it has given to SA Steel Mills.
