RIVERLEA - The South African Police Service says strides have been made to curb illegal mining activities in Riverlea in Gauteng.
This as the community calls for authorities to redouble their efforts as the area has become a no-go zone again.
Zama zamas continue to fight for territory, leaving some fearing for their lives.
Residents say the illegal mining activities also compromise the area’s infrastructure.
