JOHANNESBURG - Hospital group Netcare reported an increase in its interim group revenue by 4.3 percent.
This is despite a decline in patient days and high inflation related to wages and medical consumables.
Operating profit was also higher in the period, with efficiencies implemented across the group.
Lower respiratory admissions and fewer maternity cases led to a marginal drop in total paid patient days.
Commenting on National Health Insurance, Netcare says that the unequal access needs to be addressed.
But, it says the bill was signed without addressing some weaknesses.
