NERSA to decide on tariff hikes next year
Should Nersa give Eskom the green light, consumers will have to dig deep a big ask in the current economic climate.

JOHANNESBURG - While you're forced to navigate your schedule of power cuts, you'll also have to wait a bit longer to find out if you're going to be paying more for electricity.
Nersa has been granted an extension to decide whether to grant Eskom's revenue application for the 2023/2024 financial year.
That's now been extended to 12 January.
The regulating authority was ordered to make a final decision on the application by Christmas eve, but asked for more time with just days to spare.
Eskom has applied for a 32-percent tariff increase for 2023/2024.
