JOHANNESBURG - Energy regulator Nersa has granted Eskom an 18.65% tariff increase for the 2023/24 financial year.
This will kick in from April this year for Eskom's direct customers.
From April 2024, a 12.7% increase will kick in.
Cash-strapped consumers will be paying an extra R1.73 per kilowatt hour for electricity.
The latest tariff hike comes as Eskom is implementing record rolling blackouts.
