JOHANNESBURG - More than 2,000 workers face retrenchment at Sibanye-Stillwater’s gold operations as the company starts restructuring talks with organised labour.
The move comes days after Sibanye secured a five-year wage agreement with mine workers union AMCU at its platinum operations in Rustenburg and Marikana.

But Sibanye says high costs and depleting reserves at its gold operations at Beatrix means over 2,000 jobs are on the line.
