JOHANNESBURG - NUM is accusing Sibanye-Stillwater of putting profits before people.
It took to the streets of Westonaria over the planned retrenchments of over 4,000 mineworkers.
The union is also demanding answers from the ANC-led government.
A Sibanye representative was present to receive the memorandum.
"We have heard the demands as they were being listed," said Leepi Marumule.
"On behalf of the company, we will respond within the 14-day deadline that we've been given."
Should this deadline pass, NUM has threatened full-on strike action.
