JOHANNESBURG - The unemployment rate increased slightly in the fourth quarter of 2023.
It rose by 0.2 of a percentage point from 31.9 percent in the third quarter to 32.1 percent in the following quarter.

Statistics South Africa released the latest Quarterly Labour Force Survey data on Tuesday.
The director at Labour Amplified, Jahni de Villiers, says even though there's a slight improvement on an annual basis, not enough is being done to address the crisis.
