3,500 jobs at AMSA on the line
JOHANNESBURG - More than a third of permanent and contract employees at ArcelorMittal South Africa are facing an uncertain future.
The steel giant announced that they will be retrenching 3,500 workers, and closing down their long steel operations at Newcastle and Vereeniging.
eNCA spoke to two workers at the Vereeniging plant on what they are expecting, as the retrenchment process officially starts on Wednesday.
