JOHANNESBURG - Consumer inflation has eased slightly to 6.8-percent.
It dropped from 7.1-percent the month before.

However the figure remains far above the Reserve Bank's target band of between 3 and 6-percent.
Food inflation shows no sign of abating - staying above 14 percent in April.
Higher inflation outlooks support the case for the Reserve Bank to increase interest rates.
The bank is expected to raise rates again on Thursday.
