JOHANNESBURG - The illicit alcohol trade is estimated to be worth about R20.5 billion annually.
That is according to Lucky Ntimane from the National Liquor Traders.
Recently, Gauteng police shut down an illegal micro-distillery in Katlehong and arrested eleven suspects.
An estimated R5 million worth of liquor was found and ten suspects - believed to be foreign nationals - were arrested.
