JOHANNESBURG - A student's innovative approach to uplifting their local communities has won them a spot at the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards Semi-Finals.
Penwell Silinda from the University of Mpumalanga got first place, and biomedical technology student Tumisho Thobejane from the Vaal University of Technology secured second.

Thobejane's Fooddable tackles food waste and hunger by partnering with fast-food chains to turn excess food into meals for those in need.
This is a global competition series for college students running their own businesses.
