CAPE TOWN - Eskom CFO Calib Cassim says that the power utility must increase tariffs.
According to Cassim, Eskom has been struggling to stay afloat.
To date, municipalities across the country owe Eskom over R90 billion.
Cassim says the proposed tariff hikes will if approved, will put Eskom in a better financial and operational position.
However, the City of Cape Town's MMC for Energy, Xanthea Limberg calls for the rejection of the tariff hike.
