Minister says coal power to remain for some time
CAPE TOWN - Environment Minister, Dion George, says coal energy will be with us for some time to come.
He says he is worried about job losses if coal is phased out.
The Minister says the country can also only transition once there is enough renewable energy in the mix.

At this point, George says there is not enough money for a Just Energy Transition.
He will be travelling to China on Friday to discuss this with his Chinese, Brazilian and Indian counterparts.
