JOHANNESBURG - Government has plunged the country back into the stone age.
That's according to SAFTU General-Secretary, Zwelenzima Vavi.
He was responding to electricity tariff increases that will be switched on in April.
Vavi says the struggling working class is being punished over and over again.
"The courts normally won’t listen to anything except what is presented by Nersa and Eskom, we are taking a pounding," he said.
"Levels of poverty are increasing, levels of access to electricity are decreasing, people resorting to firewood.
"Putting on geysers and kettles is becoming unaffordable, and very soon even the lights will become unaffordable."
