Economic recovery | SA aviation flying high

JOHANNESBURG - The aviation sector is doing exceptionally well, according to Transport Minister Sindiswe Chikunga. 

She's given an update on the sector, indicating that it's almost back to pre-Covid levels.

"The state of aviation in South Africa is doing exceptionally well at both domestic and international levels. 

"It should however be noted that the aviation industry is recovering gradually," she said.

"After a period of turbulence and not knowing the full extent of the impact of the pandemic socially and economically, I am happy to confirm to you that the worst is over, and our aviation sector’s recovery is on a positive trajectory.”

The industry's making sure it's not grounded by crime.

Cyber attacks have also been raised as a concern, but Air Traffic and Navigation Services says enough measures are in place to avert attacks.
