Discussion | State plans to have water state owned enterprise

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa will have a state-owned water company in the first half of 2025.

Its mandate, among other things, will be to manage national water resources infrastructure, to generate and collect revenue from the sale of water.

However, the executive manager of the WaterCan advocacy group Dr Ferrial Adam believes that establishing a state-owned company is not a step in the right direction.
