JOHANNESBURG - The Institute of Chartered Entrepreneurs has voiced strong support for the Takealot Group's call for significant reforms in the e-commerce sector.

These reforms aim to create a fair and competitive landscape that bolsters South Africa's localisation efforts and safeguards the sustainability of local manufacturing industries.

E-commerce giants like Shein and Temu have been exploiting outdated regulations to offer low-priced products, undermining local business.

The South African Revenue Service has also imposed a 45% duty on clothing imports from the first of July.
