Discussion | 0.4% GDP growth 'encouraging'

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa’s economy is growing again.

Gross Domestic Product, or the total output of the economy, grew by 0.4% in the second quarter of the year, compared with the first quarter.

The country experienced no load-shedding for the entire quarter, for the first time in years.

GDP was revised to 0%, or no growth, in the first quarter after a very small contraction was reported previously.
