JOHANNESBURG - Food prices will continue to remain unaffordable to most South Africans.
This is the dire warning from the Pietermaritzburg Economic Justice and Dignity Group.
It says this is mainly due to the collapsing Eskom and Transnet infrastructure.
The group also says the wars in Palestine and Ukraine are not making things any easier.
"Rice prices are growing exceedingly at the moment and that has to do with the fact that India's not exporting a lot of rice and that means there's less rice in the global market," said the group's Mervyn Abrahams.
"So we have those global factors but we also have major local factors."
