JOHANNESBURG - Cosatu president Zingiswa Losi says South Africa cannot afford to have more unemployed people.
She was addressing National Union of Mine Workers members who are striking over looming job cuts.
NUM is taking Sibanye-Stillwaterâs decision to cut about 4,000 jobs to the streets.
The union says the decision is merely a way to maximise profits.
A total of 3,000 permanent mineworkers and 915 contractors face a jobless future.
