JOHANNESBURG - South Africa urgently needs to get local refineries up and running, that's the call from the Airlines Association as Cape Town Airport runs out of jet fuel.
The airport only has about four days of fuel left and there's a risk of flight cancellations.
Delayed fuel shipments are expected to reach Cape Town by Monday.
The airport has been scrambling for emergency reserves.
The Airlines Association says it wants government to put a waiver on navigation and airport fees as airlines land at other airports to refuel.
