Budget cuts reduce contract teacher jobs

CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape education department was dealt a devastating blow when national government announced austerity measures last year. 

The department was forced to embark on a range of cost-cutting measures that saw thousands of contract teachers losing their jobs.
