JOHANNESBURG - There is a shortage of smaller-sized chicken portions, thanks to power cuts.
That’s the word from the country’s largest poultry producer, Astral Foods.
There are fears that the fast food restaurant sector will feel the pinch amid continuing blackouts.
Astral says chicken houses are full of birds that cannot be slaughtered due to electricity outages.
It says as they wait in line, the chickens are getting heavier.
