Black Friday | Consumers call for food specials

CAPE TOWN - South Africans have had a tough year.

Food, fuel and inflation have risen considerably and consumers are pleading with retailers to consider specials on staples like potatoes, rice, oil and eggs this Black Friday.

One retailer says it will be introducing AI to monitor shopping trends and ensure it provides discounts on products shoppers actually want.

Retailers are hoping that loyal customers will still find products that please their needs despite the country's economic challenges.
