JOHANNESBURG - Bain SA is asking the government to overturn a 10-year ban on it doing business with the state.
National Treasury announced the prohibition last month.
The company says it deeply regrets its mistakes regarding consulting work with SARS between 2015 and 2017.
This includes the former head of office Vittorio Massone not being truthful with the Nugent Commission of inquiry.
However, Bain says it's concerned about being singled out based on unproven allegations, and without due process.
It points out that the Nugent Commission never found that it engaged in corrupt and fraudulent practices.
And, that the firm was never given an opportunity to make representations before the ban was imposed.
